The proceeds from the event benefit many area
non-profits, including the run's destination: the historic Cabrillo
Beach Bathhouse (www.cabrillobeach.org)
serving area sports and recreational activities. The event will help
pay for programs that are not funded by the state or City. With
increasing state budget cuts in 2005, these schools face additional
programs that may be eliminated or reduced. Specific allocation of
funds are at the discretion of each school's PTA or Booster Club.
- Help raise more money for the cause and get your
friends, family and co-workers to sponsor other participants.
- Raising money for one or more organization by
submitting entries also adds that extra motivation to keep you training
and strive for a great performance on race day.
- Send emails out asking others to support you or your
group.
- Recommend a company to help sponsor the event
If you decide for some reason not to run, walk, ride or
skate on September 2, there are many other ways to join the vibe on the
Waterfront. Why not volunteer with the ION® Bridge to
Breakwater®?
It's
likely to be one of the most rewarding experiences you'll ever have.
From individuals to community groups, there's always a place for
another fresh mind and helping hand at the ION® Bridge to
Breakwater®. Dozens of volunteers are needed this year.
Office volunteers assist the ION® Bridge to
Breakwater® staff with event mailings, pre-event prep work and
general
office support.
Event day volunteers assist the ION® Bridge to
Breakwater® staff with registration, t-shirt distribution,
monitoring
the route, refreshments and more!
If you are interested in becoming an ION® Bridge to
Breakwater® volunteer, you may register
online or print and mail the registration form. Please call our
