ION® Bridge to Breakwater 2006 Recap

San Pedro, CA - The long-anticipated ION® Bridge to Breakwater® 12K/5K Run, Walk, and Skate was successfully staged on September 2nd, 2006 in San Pedro, along the Los Angeles Harbor, from the Vincent Thomas Bridge around the Federal Breakwater at Cabrillo Beach and back to the Cruise Ship Promenade.

Along with local athletes, hundreds of participants came from all over the country, including Louisiana, Florida, New York, Illinois, New Jersey, and Arizona.

Inspired by City officials and dozens of fellow community members, the Bridge to Breakwater® is a homegrown, highly unique, original, one-of-a-kind recreational community event, founded by San Pedro's visionary native son, Dave Behar. Proceeds benefit non-profit organizations, waterfront recreational activities at Cabrillo Beach and the historic Bathhouse, and Los Angeles area schools and youth sports organizations.
