It's 1988, and we're in Mission Beach San Diego...Picture over
20 AVP Players and Olympic Gold Medalists teaming up and vying for
the first (and only) ever $10,000 Six Man Pro Beach Volleyball World
Championships...
Pro Beach Volleyball's winningest players, Singin Smith, Randy
Stoklos, Mike Dodd, Dan Vrebalovich, Gary Sato, Steve Salmon and
many others are competing fiercely in a Final - all together at
once....
A historic, successful event indeed, as this was one of the first
major events produced by ionFest Founder Dave Behar. But that was
then...Fast forward to 2005 at the beach near the Breakwater - Cabrillo
Beach. After a 15-year hiatus, the classic event is hosted at picturesque
Cabrillo Beach in San Pedro, promising to be just as exciting, if
not more, as the players from that era and event are now Legends,
invited, and eligible for prize money....Play or watch, this is
an event for the ages - practically all ages.
